LUNAFEST, the fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in their communities, will be hosted by The Centre County Women’s Resource Center at The State Theatre on March 25th.

This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through nine short films, of different genres including drama, animation and cover topics such as motherhood, body image, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.

All proceeds from LUNAFEST will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and The Centre County Women’s Resource Center. Thus far, LUNAFEST, which is created and funded by LUNA, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, raised $656,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund and over $1,250,000 for other women’s non-profit organizations.

LUNAFEST is a traveling film festival of award-winning short films by, for and about women. This season, our program of eight films – filled with stories of reflection, hope and humor – will travel to over 150 cities and screen in front of 25,000 people. Each year, various organizations bring LUNAFESTs to their communities and raise funds for their local non-profits as well as our main beneficiary – Breast Cancer Fund.
